Michael Flores fondly remembers being introduced to the lowrider scene by his brothers and those memories were enough to make him vow to one day own a ride of his own. Fast forward to 2008 and his search came to a halt when he finally found his perfect candidate: a 1993 Chevy Caprice.

The car, which he found in Ventura County, California, was soon purchased and brought back to Arizona where he wasted no time giving it the ultimate makeover. First on his list of things to do was to massage all the dents and blemishes out of the body, and once it was primed and prepped he had it hit with a two-tone green and silver paint scheme.

After allowing the paint to cure it was buffed and color-sanded to sheer perfection at which point it was time to redo the interior. Thanks to Francisco from Flores Upholstery, the vehicle’s inner guts were stripped down and each of the seats were treated to new foam and then wrapped with peanut butter-toned leather.

From there, Michael turned to his brothers to help him with the stance, so they installed two 5-gallon tanks mated to a pair of 480 VIAIR compressors. The compressors feed the 2500 Denominator bags, and at the touch of a button it will lay the car down smooth to help eliminate any wheel gap on the 22-inch Milani rims wrapped in 255/30/22 Nexen tires.

Happy with the final outcome, little did Michael know that this was merely just the beginning of the second phase. Years later, after becoming a member of Nokturnal Car Club, he drew inspiration from his fellow crew members and it further motivated him to up the ante, so he called up the fellas at Northside Kustoms. It was there that the Caprice’s door handles were shaved off and the body was stripped down for a new scheme.

With all preparation done, the Caprice was then doused with a new paintjob, but this time around he went with a Lime Time Green. Though happy with the results, he wanted a bit more flare, so he went to Bugs Auto Art for a bit more tweaking. Bugs freaked out the paintjob by adding patterns toned in different shades of green and finished it off with a brilliant silver leaf coupled with pinstriping.

After the exterior was completed and crafted to his exacting standards, it was time for a full interior revamp, which started with the audio system. Inside, the center console was retrofitted with a 10-inch monitor and a Pioneer head unit was put in charge of all audio/video controls. For crisp and clear vocals, the door panels and rear deck are now home to a full set of Kicker speakers powered by a team of trustworthy Rockford Fosgate amps.

Now that it’s all done we doubt that he’d mess with it again, but you just never know. Competition and creativity is what drives our industry so we just may see phase three. Needless to say, lowriding has become a family pastime and Michael assures us that his kids will continue the tradition of riding low and slow.
