Proving that some of the best customs of all kinds can be found right in America’s “heartland,” Justin Ballard’s fiery-hot ’66 Chevy Impala SS, “Low School,” has blazed a trail from its home in Peoria, Illinois, to the pages of Lowrider Magazine. Representing Altered Images Car Club-Quad Cities chapter, this slick “six” has unique and nicely done full-custom modifications inside and out, underneath and all around, from the pinstriped and molded frame to the flaming trunk display.

That’s because Justin and Don Kidd of Kidd Customs in Peoria, who performed much of the work, made sure that the ’66 would be a quality build from top to bottom, inside and out. Justin (who thanks his wife, Ky, and their “two beloved sons” Isaiha and Jacob) can hold up that club plaque proudly with this seriously hot SS. Check the car yourself and you’ll learn that Low School can teach a thing or two to just about anyone in the custom car game. Class dismissed.
