Newhall, California, resident Ricardo Vasquez is a fairly new member to Goodtimes car club, but he has been around them for many years as one of his close friends, Chuch, is a long time club member. Still, this recent addition to the club is making waves, as he has the first Harley-Davidson in the West Side chapter. “Five years ago, a friend of mine was selling the Harley because he was losing his home and needed the financial help,” Ricardo says. Though he was happy to have an H-D to call his own, Ricardo didn’t start customizing the bike until three years ago. “I started fixing it up because I had gotten in a wreck leaving the Laughlin River Run,” he laments. Ricardo and his good friend, Nelson Alvarez, smashed into a K-rail leaving Laughlin and Nelson had to be flown to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The devastating wreck put Ricardo down for a year. He had been around Goodtimes car club so much that he felt it was time he built something in order to officially join and represent the club. This H-D would be his first ever lowrider build and Ricardo didn’t take it lightly. As time progressed, Ricardo decided to not stay local with his bike and made sure to represent his club by taking it out of state. He’s shown his bike in Texas and at the Lowrider Magazine Super Show in Vegas, where he received First place in his class. “I’m still doing more stuff to the bike; it’s not done yet,” vows Ricardo.

He would like to give a shout out to all the chapters of Goodtimes, Santa Clarita Choppers for helping him build it, David Renteria for the engraving, and would like to thank his friend Chucho for helping him get to where he is now. Also, Ricardo includes a special shout out to seven of his friends, whom he lost this year.
