As a kid, Christian Flores from Baytown, Texas, was influenced by many lowrider bikes, especially “Field Of Dreams” and “Casino Dreaming.” He also owned a few pedal-scrapers of his own back in the day. As the years went by, Christian wanted more than ever to become the proud owner of a bike that would grace the pages of LRM and that he’d be able to show with the heavy hitters out there in the lowrider bike world.
Christian got it all started with a torn-down trike. “The bike scene has changed since my teenager days,” Christian admits, so he received a lot of motivation from his “homie” Jose Chavez from Latin Cartel C.C., who guided him and introduced him to big-time bike builder named Mike AKA “Darkness.”
Mike began the build by filling in and molding the frame and fenders. He also built custom twisted handlebars with a tribal cut and engraved forks. During the build, Christian ran into one of his high school friends, Jose “Rec” Hernandez, who has a lowrider bike called “Problemas,” and the meeting gave him the idea of creating a brand new bike club. The new organization was christened Exclusive B.C.
Christian was next introduced to Mike Linville of Toy Shop Customs. Mike took the trike to a different level when he custom fabricated a sprocket, crank, pedals, and custom cut and engraved braces. Chris “Lil’ Deville” of Fantasy Toys laced up some 144-spoke Arizona-style wheels covered with custom candy brandywine paint.
All of the custom engraving and chrome was done by Cortez Custom Engraving and, as if that wasn’t enough, Christian also added a custom steering wheel that was designed and plated by “Taco” and Tony (TNT) from Rollerz Only C.C. After all of the body work was done and the parts were delivered, it was time for paint. Mario “Wolfie” Ramirez of Baytown used different combinations of House of Kolor candy and flake to bring out the trike’s lines.
With a lot of hard work and dedication, Christian achieved his dream and he’s introduced his young son, Christian Jr., to the lowrider bike scene. The trike made its debut in Houston, Texas, at the Lowrider Magazine Tour event where it took First Place in the Full Custom class and Best Trike. Christian thanks his wife, Carmen, son Christian, bike club Exclusive, Sic713, Toy Shop Customs, Fantasy Toys, TNT, Wolfie’s Airbrushing, Jose Chavez and Albert Rangel for their support with this custom bike that will be around “2 D Grave.”
