Thirty-seven-year-old Mike Gonzalez of Miami, Florida, has been lowriding since he was 19. Originally out of New York, Mike relocated to Miami, where he got involved with what he likes to do and that’s work on lowriders. The hydraulics guru has owned other vehicles, but he’s been doing his thing with this Mazda truck since 2001. Mike has his work down to a science, keeping maintenance on the truck to a minimum.

This single-pump truck is all Red’s Miami-equipped and has a single piston-style pump to the nose. With eight batteries and two pumps to the rear, this truck was made to “Lowrider rules.” When Mike started building this truck, he had low maintenance in mind and did not build it too radically, as the more that you strain the designs the more chances you have to break something.

Mike has traveled around the country with his truck and has made a name for himself in the hydraulic world as he builds and maintains his own vehicle. Much props go out to Mike and his Red’s Miami crew that helps him out when necessary. Word is that he’s going to be building a single-pump G-body to serve fools down South Beach way. We’ll have to see how that goes for him. Until then, we’ll catch you next month.
