Engine/Drivetrain:A Chevy 350-c.i.d. V-8 with the stock intake and exhaust manifold is complemented with billet accessories, while 30-inch glass-packs give the right exhaust note and a Powerglide transmission built by Fat Mike’s Customs in Mesa makes sure that shift happens. Metro Plating and Shell Happy (both of Mesa) performed the gold and chrome plating.
Body/Paint:The body workwas performed by Tom Trueblood who shaved all of the emblems and brought the body in line. Painting and pinstriping chores were handled by none other than Efrin "Bugs" Gonzalez of Bugs Auto Art in Mesa. The murals were painted by the awesome OG AbelInterior:Taking a cue from the hotrod camp, Steve had Miranda’s Customs stitch up a full tweed interior for the ’66 with peach leather inserts. Custom swiveling low-back seats in the front and buckets in the rear were installed, and the dash was also covered in tweed.
Sound System:Huizing Customs in Lakewood, California, installed a Pioneer Premier head unit, four Audiobahn 12-inch subwoofers, four Pioneer 6x9s and two tweeters. ThreeAudiobahn amps power up the system and the 6-inch TV in the dash by LoriRingham.
Setup:Competition pumps from Shell Happy, four old school Delta dumps, 8-inch and 10-inch (rear) cylinders, six solenoids, six Copper State batteries and 10 switches, comprise the stainless steel hardline system installed by "Indio" and "Paco" at Red’s Hydraulics in Phoenix, Arizona.
