They say that love is sweeter the second time around. Well, the same could also be said of this sweet ’94 Honda Civic LX four-door called “Phenomenon Dos,” owned and built–again–by 34-year-old Todd A. Davis, Sr. of Costa Mesa, California. You see, this is the second incarnation of this full-custom Euro convertible and the second time it’s been featured (appearing in the December 1998 issue of Lowrider when it was candy magenta and rolling on Daytons). “But it’s always been my dream to be featured in Lowrider Euro,” Todd stated excitedly, “and now my dream’s come true!”

The long-time Royal Fantasies C.C. member began his career in cars in Miami, Florida, where he got his mobile electronics installer’s certification. Then, after moving to California in the early ’90s, he started 3TMotorsports.com (a one-stop custom shop that does everything from early-’30s to new model cars and trucks) and built his own car as a rolling showcase for the shop.

It was awesome then, but nothing compared to today with literally everything inside and out being redone. Todd and Frank King did all of the work on the Civic themselves at 3Tmotorsports, “with the support of numerous sponsors,” Todd notes. “I owe them a lot.” Todd also sends a special thanks to Frank King for the endless help, at all hours he provided.

So far the redux roadster has won First Place in the Performance Euro class at every California show and Las Vegas Super Show for the past two years. That’s the best testament of quality that this car could get.
