My life as a hot rodder began when I talked my dad into putting dual pipes on my pedal car. Since those days of cruising the sidewalks not much has changed, I still love anything with wheels.
Over the years I've been an Air Force parachute rigger, truck driver, auto shop teacher. I worked with Tex Smith producing books such as the Complete Ford Flathead V8 Engine Manual and the Complete Chrysler Engine Manual and was the editor of Hot Rod Mechanix; I've written for Rod Action, Rod & Custom, High Performance Pontiac, High Performance Mopar, Drag Racing USA, 4X4 Performance and others. In 1998 I followed by friend, Brian Brennan, to Street Rodder and have been there ever since. In addition I'm the senior editor of Custom Classic Trucks and work on the yearly Rod Tour Manuals
Jason Scudellari, Motor Trend Group tech center manager, is well aware of the advantages a cold-air intake offers. But if he wants such a system for his LS1-powered Chevy pickup, he’ll have to make it himself.
