Jose Zendejas is a dedicated and loyal lowrider enthusiast. He was born and raised in the northern San Diego County area of Escondido, California. He says he has always loved lowriders since he was a youngster, so his passion for the sport has come a long ways. Also being a fan of all car cultures for so long has molded Jose into one of today’s great car builders. He has a definite passion for all different styles of automobiles.
Ideas from muscle cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and customs are incorporated into all of his lowrider builds. From his resto-mod and custom ground-up candy red bomb to this luxury Lincoln Continental, he puts his own style and unique personality into them. With that said, it is no wonder that Jose starts with each car as a major project, and then ultimately, his dreams are transformed. His latest testament to that would be proven in this ’79 Lincoln Mark V.
Three years ago, Jose purchased this Lincoln from a client who was actually the original owner. The ride had a mere 31,000 miles on the odometer. Jose had always wanted a Lincoln; he saw this make as a luxurious car with elegance that topped all other similar models in its class.
With the Lincoln in his possession, Jose didn’t waste any time customizing it. Being a fan of old and new school styles, Jose opted to go with a combination of both worlds. The car is a classic luxury vehicle, popular in the early ’80s, but the upgraded new-age interior complements the paintjob’s design perfectly. Finishing up the customizations on this long land yacht has brought Jose many first place trophies and awards at various car shows from all over.
Jose’s goal when building this chosen ride was to think outside of the box and create a one-of-a-kind Lincoln build that blended different styles. He says he achieved that with all kinds of responses from different admirers and that has been phenomenal for him. Jose sends a big thanks to Miguel Martinez for his help on this special build, but he expressly thanks his wife and daughters for their loving support.
