Many people are familiar with the longtime lowrider couple known as Blue and Lady Blue of San Jacinto, California. For years, they have been a part of the lowriding lifestyle; consistently hitting the local car shows and the cruise spots from Moreno Valley, California, to Los Angeles, and beyond. In more recent years, Blue has made a name for himself with a clean, custom ’67 Impala, which he built and owned, while his better half, Lady Blue, represented the lowriding ladies worldwide a decade ago in the November 2004 issue of Lowrider magazine. Her ’93 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham was the centerfold feature in that issue.
This time around, the power duo has teamed up to do one single vehicle, and it could be the best ride either of them has ever built or owned to date. A rare ’82 Cadillac LeCabriolet became available for sale shortly after the October 2012 Super Show in Las Vegas. Blue was actually headed home from the event when he got a call informing him of its whereabouts. Blue knew right away that he had to have it and build it to his liking. He wasted no time in telling his wife about the deal and with the unmistakable lowriding blood running through their veins; it was a done deal for them both. With the money soon in hand, the sale was completed and the ragtop Caddy was on its way to the couple’s home.
The Blues are not afraid to get dirty, either. Both have had their fair share of late night bolt turning in their garage. The time, money, and work they have invested into this Cadillac is obviously evident with just one glance, as the eye-catching, all-red convertible is accented well with the plentiful amounts of chrome and silver leafing. Of course, without the help of their friends, fellow Ultimate For Life Car Club members, and the custom specialty shops, the LeCab wouldn’t be at the level it stands now.
The Blues give big thanks and love to each other and are now eager to get this ride—affectionately called “Smiling Faces”—out to the upcoming shows and cruises, now that it is complete. They also give thanks to all who helped with the build-up of the ride including G-Motorsports, Explosive Customs, The Avenue Customs, and Gotta Have It Customs.
