Juan Esqueda’s dad was into muscle cars, and naturally, this made Juan a fan of car customizing at an early age. As he grew older, he knew he would make his own foray into the world of customs. His 2006 Nissan Altima was purchased brand new in 2006. “I bought it with the intentions of having it as a daily driver,” he explains. “I had fixed up cars before and I would end up not being happy with them; so I didn’t want the same thing to happen to this one.” Juan succeeded in not modifying the car for two whole weeks, but before he knew it, he had wheels on the car and was getting a leaf job done to the paint. “After the stripes, I added airbags and started taking it to car shows. Once I was there, I noticed that my car was basically stock, so I decided to upgrade the paint and interior.” Once the paint and interior portions were done, he decided to join Nokturnal car club.
Even though his car was finished, Juan wasn’t happy with it and decided to go all out. “I did things to the car that I ended up regretting, but I think it happens to everyone on some builds.” Juan learned the hard way, as he found out that going the cheaper route ended up being more costly. “Currently I have done a few things to my car that I’m not truly happy with, but I did them to get points. Everywhere I go, even out of state, I end up winning my class,” says the Altima owner. “The way I see things, if you have a car out on the scene for two years; it gets played out. I’m already in the works to start having the car completely changed up in a year and maybe taking it to the radical class.”
Juan would like to thank for his parents for putting up with him and all the hassles that come with building a show car like this.
