Lowrider Model Car
For all the time and effort that goes into building a lowrider model car it is almost a crime to take it outdoors. But most lowrider car shows are outside or some may even be inside a hall.
Well I’m ready to make my first lowrider model. Down at the model shop there are all kinds of kits to choose from. After stressing a bit I finally decide on an Impala. It is they that are the most popular although I was tempted to go for a Cadillac. If this one works I think that will be my next one.
The hard part is to follow the instructions. It is hard being a know all but where I come from we have a saying. ‘If all else fails read the instructions’. I am determined to read the instructions. Both sets it turns out are written in English and are very simple to follow. One is for the bodywork the other explains the assembly of the hydraulic system on our lowrider model car.
Once the frame and tires are connected our hydraulics can be attached. Now there are two ways of doing this. They can either be glued or screwed. It doesn’t really matter which but here are some points to consider about lowrider models.
Should you decide to glue them into place then they are literally set in concrete and will not be able to be removed. If they are screwed into place they can be removed if something unforeseen happens. You may even consider rebuilding your lowrider model car at some stage.
Alright we have the hydraulics attached. Before the body and anything else is added it is important at this stage to test the apparatus. Incidentally some enthusiasts will tape coins or lead weights to the frame to help stabilize their lowrider car.
When you are satisfied the lowrider model car can have its body glued in place. You are now ready to take it for a test drive. Good luck and get a lot of enjoyment from your lowrider model car.
