Lowrider Impalas

When people hear the term lowrider cars, the classic hardtop and convertible Chevrolet Lowrider Impalas slowly cruising the streets of Los Angeles is a common image brought to mind. These classic cars are still featured at lowrider car shows and often appear in music videos and television programs. However, the addition of modern customizations and hydraulics has put a new spin on this favorite older model.

Many owners invest a lot of time as well as money into modifying their vehicle. In addition to custom rims and hubcaps, the custom lowrider may also be embellished with intricate airbrushed murals on their trunks and hoods which may feature religious images or other meaningful symbols and creative designs. The interiors of the vehicles are often reupholstered with leather or velvet fabric. A modern lowrider car will tend to have an enhanced sound system installed as well as sometimes including DVD players and television screens.

The lowrider car show is a place where owners showcase these one-of-a-kind pieces of art as well as providing an arena where they may enter their vehicles in competitions to test their performance. The lowrider hydraulics now being installed in some of the Lowrider Impalas allow the driver to control the height and drive the car at a level barely above the ground. Hydraulic suspensions also make it possible for a lowrider car to perform stunts including hopping and tilting. Drivers who execute these skills best are awarded in competitive events. Shoppers may also find Impalas as well as other lowrider cars for sale at these shows.

Fans of Lowrider Impalas who aren’t ready to drive the real thing yet can buy or build intricate lowrider model cars with small scale features similar to the bigger originals. Decals and paint allow builders to decorate the models in their own unique style. Working hydraulics directed by remote controls can even be installed to give the models the ability to perform stunts.

Overall, the Lowrider Impala is said to be one of the original cars to hit the early lowriding scene, and it still remains popular today. Modern customizations and technology have allowed the car to become a favorite amongst a whole new lowrider generation.
