Rebuilding your motor and throwing on the same accessories is much like taking a shower and putting your old clothes back on. Simply put, you just don’t do that.
A rebuilt motor brings you peace of mind, but new accessories are what bring life to your car and inner spirits. Seriously, all of you know what I’m talking about and thanks to Holley, they’ve given us even more performance accessories that look as good as they perform. In this issue we’ll be taking a look at their Vintage Series of components, which are a definite must-have.
Featuring a classically inspired fin design, the Vintage Series air cleaners also feature their distinct retro-style Holley script that has become part of their signature look. Available in 14-inch diameter and constructed of die-cast aluminum, their air cleaners come in varying heights, which include both 3- and 4-inch-tall models.
As for the filter elements, they can be ordered in either paper (white) or premium reusable cotton gauze (red). All air cleaners include color-matched bases with knockout provisions for a fresh air adapter, and included in the kit is the carburetor gasket and all mounting hardware necessary for installation.
Short Valve Covers
Valve covers are much like the shoulders of your motor, and these Vintage Series valve covers are designed to fit all 1958-1986 small-block Chevrolet engines—with perimeter bolt patterns. The die-cast aluminum construction ensures the highest possible detail, while also reducing the opportunity for warpage of the valve cover flange&mash;thus minimizing the possibility of oil leaks. Standing at 3 1/2 inches tall, all units come with pre-installed internal oil baffles, and included in the kit is the oil fill and PCV grommets. Please note that the valve covers are available with or without emission provisions for your custom application.
All Vintage Series air cleaners and valve covers are offered in as-cast satin black with machined fins and polished finishes.
Tall Valve Covers
Holley’s tall LS valve covers are the latest addition to their extensive line of LS engine components that are designed to add a custom touch to your engine bay. In addition to dressing up your engine bay, these valve covers were designed to add an additional 0.54 inch of internal clearance over factory height valve covers to clear taller valvetrain components in high-horsepower applications. The Holley tall LS valve covers fit LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, and LS7 engines. These valve covers come ready for installation with an OE-style baffle and ventilation system, lengthened factory-style mounting hardware, plus a billet aluminum oil fill cap. (Customers are encouraged to reuse or replace the original gaskets specific to their application.)
The plain tall valve covers retain Holley’s signature integrated angled coil mounts designed for standard LS3 coil bolt spacing of 73 mm. The Dominator valve covers eliminate the coil-on-cover mounting provisions for the ultimate clean look in LS applications with an aftermarket distributor conversion or relocated coil packs.
Holley’s Dominator valve covers round out the latest offering for their ever-expanding line of products specifically designed for LS engines. Based on Holley’s existing tall LS valve covers, the new Dominator valve covers eliminate the coil-on-cover look and instead feature bold graphics that can represent your loyalty to the Holley brand and intimidate the competition. Similar to Holley’s tall LS valve cover, they have added an additional 0.54 inch of internal clearance over factory height valve covers, which allows for additional valvetrain clearance while adding a muscular touch to your engine bay. The Holley Dominator valve covers are designed to fit LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, and LS7 engines. These covers come ready for installation with an OE-style baffle and ventilation system, lengthened factory-style mounting hardware, and a billet aluminum oil fill cap.
