LRG: How do you make a buck when you’re not modeling?
Krista: I work for the type of people you want to hang up on. I’m a debt collector. It basically involves contacting people that are neglecting debt. Anybody that doesn’t pay their bills and lets them go too long, we contact them to try and collect payment. If they don’t want to work with us, my boss sues them. It’s pretty interesting.
LRG: I thought I recognized your voice. Just kidding. You enjoy harassing people with bad credit?
Krista: I don’t enjoy harassing them. (Laughs). I call them. You can’t harass or I get sued.
LRG: So what made you want to make the switch over to modeling?
Krista: It’s been a life long dream of mine to become a model. I have three kids so it took a while to be the right time. I met my manager and I told him this is something I really wanted to do and he helped me get started.
LRG: Wait. You have three kids? Wow! What’s your secret?
Krista: In high school and college I did weight training and cardio. After the kids I ran and kept myself up to par. Recently I’ve been really trying to kick butt.
LRG: What do you do on the weekends with three kids?
Krista: Regular mom stuff. Go to the movies or the beach. When I don’t have my children, I might hit up a bar. I’m not a big club person. Mostly I work out a lot. That’s a good majority of my day.
LRG: If a guy wanted to meet you, where would be the place best place to go?
Krista: Probably at the gym, a bar or at the mall.
LRG: The mall? You mean like walk up and say “Hey baby. Can I buy you a pretzel?”
Krista: A lot of people approach me after I say something first. If they approach me in a rude way, I turn it around. I’m not too much of a “shut your mouth” type of person. I think a guy would have more of a chance saying “Hiyee. I’m interested in knowing you. Can I have your number?” Something like that! I’m really easy to get along with.
LRG: What’s favorite type of guy then?
Krista: The funny thing is I don’t have much of a preference or a taste or anything like that. I love personality. If you can make me laugh, I’m all for it. As long as you show me a good time, I’m happy.
LRG: So you’re saying any Joe Schmo that’s broke, has bad credit, no hair, and missing teeth still has a chance?
Krista: Oh yeah. (Laughs) It’s true. That’s the funny part.
LRG: Where should a guy take you if he passes the first stage?
Krista: Take me to the newest movie that’s out. I like watching movies. After the movie we can go to a bar. There we can talk more and stuff like that. I love to shop too. Maybe go to a casino. I like Dave and Busters. You know fun stuff.
LRG: I have good credit, lots of hair (including in my ears) and most of my own teeth. Now I just need to buy you a plate of chicken tenders, fill your pocket full of tokens and I’m in? What about booze? Will that help?
Krista: I am a light drinker believe it or not. Because I work out so much and eat a lot of protein, I’m not supposed to drink. I do love a Piña Colada and I usually make an exception for one. I also like Coronas. After three Coronas, I’m feeling pretty buzzed.
LRG: So you play some air hockey and put back some booze, is that a fast rack to the bedroom?
Krista: No way! You don’t want to do that. If you give it up he doesn’t want it anymore. (Laughs)
LRG: How did you start modeling with Lowriders?
Krista: I did pursue you guys quite a bit. I love the magazine and I would love to be a Lowrider girl. Lowrider is great and I think I have that kind of look. I was actually born and raised in Fullerton. My family all had nice cars and they were always around me. My dad had an Impala and a nice truck. I’ve been surrounded by (pause) the proper term is gangsters? (Laughs)
LRG: Does that mean you are a ride or die chick?
Krista: No! I just know a little bit about it. (Laughs).
