Photographer Arturo Torres
My name is Arturo Torres, aka Art. I’m a 22-year-old self-taught photographer who’s based in the San Francisco Bay area, but I work all over California. I’ve been shooting for about three years, but photography wasn’t always my passion. To tell you the truth, it all began with a pencil and paper. I always had an artistic sense about myself ever since childhood. I did everything from oil paintings to vector art in Illustrator. I bought my first SLR in 2006, and after that it was all about photography for me, which is when I began doing event coverage and studio work.
Fast forwarding to today, I’m a full-time, self-taught photographer with passion and drive. I like interacting with people and bringing out the side they haven’t seen. Most people know that I’m very chill, sometimes goofy, and yet still very professional. I’m very thankful that I have the opportunity to make a living off what I love to do.

Ashley, what has been your biggest accomplishment so far since you’ve been in the modeling industry?
So far my biggest accomplishment was getting into one of the biggest import magazines: Performance Auto & Sound. I modeled and promoted for the Weapon-R auto parts. Looking back a few years ago, I’ve never would’ve thought I’d see myself in a magazine. I feel so accomplished and feel that it was my stepping stone in becoming a successful model.
How old were you when you got your first kiss?
Oh man, I was a late bloomer. My first kiss was in the sixth grade during a class field trip.
How long have you been in the game?
I’ve been in this game since 2006 when a good friend of mine asked me to go-go dance for a promotion group called RockTheBay Entertainment, when it first started. After a few gigs and shows, I started getting offers for other modeling jobs and it took off from there.
Where are you from?
I’m a proud Bay Area girl from the valley–Vallejo, California.
What was your first job?
Wow, my first job was at Marine World Six Flags working as a game attendant. It was a pretty cool job, at the time, scouting for boys [laughing].
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
People are always surprised when I tell them I’m just at home. Everyone thinks I’m a big party animal but I’m really not. I love being with my family, staying home, and drinking hot cocoa while in bed. A girl like me with such a busy schedule needs plenty of rest!
What would someone have to do to get a date with you?
They would have to try harder than they think. I like a man who will go out of his way for the girl he likes. It shows a lot of sincerity and how worth it the relationship is to him, because if it’s worth it to him, it’ll be worth a date.
What’s your best feature?
My best feature would be my lips and also my lil’ bubble butt. Hmm, which part do you like? [Giggling]
What turns you on?
A guy with a cute smile, fresh hair cut, gentlemen, good dresser, someone who has a good head on his shoulders, smart, good hygiene, and knows how to treat a lady. I really want to marry this man!
Which celebrity do you find most attractive?
I love Angelina Jolie. She’s so hot, I’d kiss her! [Laughing]
Where can our readers find you?
You can find me modeling at the car shows, go-go dancing at your favorite clubs, maybe even on your skateboard deck, which is coming soon! Also, check me out at myspace.com/msashleyvee. Thank you for your support, you guys rock!
