I don't have a favorite, but I hear ppl say they have a specific favorite they buy their sound systems from. It could be anything like speakers and woofers, they get it from the same company/brand name. I don't know what the top brands are or why they're top list, but I want to know do you have a favorite sound system brand or anything?

I want to get a hook up but I want something really good.

What do you RECOMMEND or would warn your homies NOT to get? And tell me why.

The info would help!

Although a car audio/video/security installer I run a pretty simple system, Alpine HU, [head unit] CDA-7892 and four Eclipse 6.5" speakers, [tweeters disabled on rear speakers.
Front speakers are installed on custom MDF speaker housings and rears are installed in custom MDF and fiberglass cabinets, both front and rears are behind stock grills.

Products I like and recommend...

HUs- McIntosh, if you can afford it.
Alpine, IMO still the best HUs on the market.
Panasonic, if you are on a budget.
Pioneer, Kenwood and Clarion also make an OK product.

Amps- McIntosh and audison if you can afford them.
JL Audio, Alpine, MTX and Kicker
There are more then a few other OK ones.

Speakers- Hertz, Dynaudio, Alpine, Eclipse, JL Audio,
Infinity and a lot more.

Subs, Hertz, JL Audio, Alpine, MTX, Kicker and a few
more.

Best advice I can give for car audio/video/security is buy only from authorized dealers, local retail or online, I always support my local retail dealers for anything I buy, [if avalable].

I have 35 years of car audio installation experience, am also pretty good with car electical and A/C. if you have questions, feel free to ask.

I am not part of the low rider community, please don't hate.

Closest thing to low ride is the 58 Impala convertable tri-power we are working on at the shop right now, [stock restoration]... http://www.airwolfeautoair.com/ 94

PS, question, where did the speaker fit guide go, it was very helpfull?

There are many top of the line audio products on the market now days, but the old golden rule still applies"you get what ya pay for",but your best bet would be to deal with reputable dealers, flea market sysytems... well they suck!.my honest opinion would be to decide what kind of audio you plan on listening to the most and do some research, because after making your pick of subs and amps then you have to decide on boxes, sealed, ported or vented..takes awhile to get it all lined out ,but if you do your homework, you will be more pleased with your system.....LOwfer

ok if you want good thump but your not into pissin off your neighbors(like i am)look at my ride page and see what i mean..lol..but anywho,1 Kicker L7 12 inch sub and a good 400 watt monoblock amp should do the trick,Kicker has been around for sometime and they always keep me impressed with their subs, they also make good mids and tweets, just depends on what you want out of your system...

JL Audio has probably the highest respected name in car audio.Expensive though.MTX,Pioneer(one of my personal favorites),Kickers are good, infinity. All good stuff.Yeah stay away from wal mart.Go to a respected car audio dealer and tell them what you can afford and what you are looking for and you should walk awy happy. If you buy cheap then you see and hear why real soon.Aim for a continuous power amp vs max power.Just cuz it says 1000w doesn't mean your getting it.
