so this is kinda what Shyboo was wanting feed back on. But what I like to know from those that are really know about car audio is does music hit harder if there are different amp and subs??? Like if i have treos for subs and I have like a quantum amp would that hit harder than having the matching sets like kicker subs and kicker amp??

I think that the best type of car music is kickers and for sonys if your looking for a little bit of hit but not too much that would be the one. Thats what I first had in my cavalier and now I'm going for Memphis. I getting a package deal right now where I get two 12'subs and 500 wattamp with imported box for 400.00. I want to get the Memphis Mojo now i have never heard how loud that is I dont know anyone from around here that get that has that so I cant say that it is or not loud but from what I have read it is one of the best subs. I only want to put in my car what competetors use in thier cars at competitions.

Actully in order to get a sub to hit as hard as it possibly can you need to power it with a min. of 80% of its RMS output. For Example I have two JL 13W7s in my truck in a sealed encloser. Both woofers are rated at 1500w Rms each so that 3000w and they are dual 3ohm voice coils bridged down to 1ohm I need 2400w rms at least. SO do i need a 2400w amp no I need a 4800w peak amp with at least 2400w rms @ 2ohms so what I did is I ran two JL 1000.1 v2 amps which are 1000w rms at 4,3,2,1ohms (bad ass amp) which yields a 2000w rms total not exactly what i need but damn close. So All together the two woofers are hiting at 2000w rms in other words I broke the back window out. So all in all try and match 80% rms wattage to the rms output of your woofer. make sure your amp is puting that out at the impedance in which your woofers are wired.

let me know if i can explain anything else

ps ive been wiring up car audio since i was 10 yrs old

Polyfill material you can get from wal mart helps add some boom to your box as well. You need about a pound per cubic square foot.
