In this month’s Shop Talk, we visited the Lucas Oil Corporation based in Corona, CA. You’ve probably heard of them from our Lowrider Garage tip of the month columns, or if you’re a car buff that’s into football, you’ve heard of the Lucas Oil Stadium which serves as home to the Indianapolis Colts; this is the same company that we are visiting today.

This company originally began in a garage as the brainchild of Forrest Lucas and his wife, Charlotte, in 1989. Since its inception two and a half decades ago, the company has grown by leaps and bounds. Today they are located in a historic 100-year old former citrus processing plant, and the Lucas Oil Products corporate headquarters produces products for the Western third of the United States. The Lucas production facilities have also grown as they have a state of the art 220,000 square foot bottling facility. Located in Corydon, Indiana, this state-of-the-art facility was built from the ground up to provide product for two thirds of the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Mexico and Canada.

Lucas Oil also has its own TV production division, Lucas Oil Studios. With cutting edge technology and a highly trained staff of graphic designers, 3D animators and editors, Lucas Oil Studios is capable of producing anything from print ads, to TV commercials, to full high-end TV shows that can be seen on a variety of automotive networks.

Some of the Lucas Oil products that they produce include the following: Automotive Additives, Lubricants, Motor Oil, High Performance Racing Only, Gear Oil, Problem Solvers, Marine Products and Car Care. While on our tour of the plant it was nice to know that unlike other large companies, Lucas Oil work surroundings are different in the fact that every employee is treated like family and that makes for a great atmosphere where ever you may be inside their plant. If you want to learn more about their latest products, check them out on the web, but remember where you saw them first and if you see them at a show, let them know that you saw them in Lowrider Magazine!
