If you’re passionate about lowriding and want to start the New Years right, then don’t miss out on the Majestics’ New Year’s Picnic. Held every year at the Santa Fe Dam in the City of Irwindale, this is one get-together you don’t want to miss out on. With over 1,000 cars positioning for that perfect spot, just getting there early can be quite the scene as they line up cleaner than a fresh fade.
For many, the picnic has become less a destination point and more of a hub to showcase their latest builds or newest mods. While most cars in attendance caravanned in from Southern California, there was also a long list of riders who came in from Utah, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, and Modesto.
So what can one expect at the picnic? Well once the rays of the sun burn through the early morning haze it’s literally game over. It’s at this point that the colors of the cars come alive in what can best be described as a “brilliant display of color,” and once it starts warming up, the air almost instantly becomes filled with the sounds of old school jams and the clouds of smoke from perfectly grilled and marinated meats.
In all, the atmosphere at their picnic was good and the best part of the event is that it’s always drama free. With picturesque skies and the perfect backdrop, the Majestics put together yet another event that was more than memorable. To help ensure everyone’s safety, the Majestics also cordoned off an area where attendees could watch the hop, and if the hop wasn’t your thing, then trust us when we say, “There was a car for every style.” From laid out to juiced up, and from mild to wild, the selection of vehicles on display were eclectic and inspiring. So in celebration of the New Year we’d like to thank the Majestics CC for extending an invite to the LRM staff, while also thanking all the attendees for making this the ultimate kickoff for 2014. Till next time … stay lifted.
