Luxurious C.C. did it again with their second annual show and shine, bringing together some of the hottest cars from the region this past July 2011. This year’s event was held in an even larger location than the club’s first Show and Shine, and it was also at full capacity. The only thing as hot as the cars on display was the weather, as this late July day proved to be the kickoff to a late summer season in B.C. All area car clubs and individual riders came out in full support, proving that Lowriding is alive and well in British Columbia. Robin “Munky” Toor kept the crowds cool with his ice cream truck while spinning some of the hottest beats as well.
As with the previous year’s event, “Best Of” awards in each class were handed out to the top rides of the show. Diesel, from Unity, took Best Of Show, while Mike from Uso took home the Full Custom Prize. In anticipation of this year’s event, many area riders brought out new paintjobs for the judges, but it was Dan from Uso who raised the bar by debuting his ‘67 convertible Impala complete with Root Beer Candy and full patterns. The new kids on the block, Syndicate, came out in full force; this was their first Lowrider show and the club did not disappoint. Once again, Unity C.C. came out on top in the hop, as Cheeks brought out his Malibu wagon to take top prize against runner up Chris, from the Majestics.
The collective ante was upped this year, thanks to quality rides from Wicked Illusions, Majestics, Unity, and Rollerz Only, so next year’s entrants will really have to bring their “A game.” Judging the show was not an easy task; it took members from each car club to keep the playing field even, something that Luxurious prides itself in at these events. They strive to make the competitive aspects of their events as fair as possible and this year’s event was no exception.
Luxurious C.C. would like to thank everyone for coming out and showing their support. They would also like to thank All Stars pub, Eastside Urban Wear for the door prizes, Shutter Box Studios for all graphic work, Earl for providing the stage, Darlea for taking care of registration, and everyone else that helped make this show a great success. Luxurious C.C. invites everyone out to participate in next years show; let’s make it a bigger and better one!
