After the success of the 2009 Obsession Fest, Lowrider Magazine headed back to the great state of Georgia for the 2010 date. We had such a great time last year that we made sure to be in attendance again not only to support the show but to bring you more coverage. Obsession Car Club was once again our hosts and like last year, they made sure all of our needs were met.
The weather once again cooperated on the day of the show. Mother Nature provided plenty of sunshine to enhance the custom paint jobs on the Lowriders in attendance. Car clubs came from the surrounding states like North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. Some of the car clubs in attendance were Bounded, Livinitup, Rollerz Only, Individuals, Dedicated and Lowyalty. They brought their Sunday best out for everyone to see. Obsession Car Club also had their club cars on display including Edgar Brito’s 1964 Impala ragtop called “The Formula” which was featured in our March 2010 issue.
Vendor row featured some of the shops in the area that provide suspension work, custom paint, wheels and tires. Yogi’s tire shop and Papa’s Studios had some of their offerings on display.
One of the cool things at the show is that, for the price of admission lunch is on Obsession! Attendees were treated to some burgers and hot dogs and for pocket change you can buy a nice cold drink.
SUMO Entertainment made sure the music was playing while you ate your lunch or checked out all of the cool rides. Houston Texas’ own Chingo Bling was back again as the headlining entertainer. This year he also brought female vocalist Roxxi Jane to entertain the crowd as well.
Once the live performances were over, there was a mini truck bed-dancing demo that included pyrotechnics. Immediately after the demo, the hopping contest got underway. The competitors did not disappoint in both single and double pump categories. After the hop, it was time to pack it up and call it a good day.
For those of you in the Southeastern United States, make sure you attend this show in 2011. It is one you do not want to miss. Thanks again, to our hosts Obsession Car Club for the invite and all they did for us while we were in town.
