One of the greatest aspects of our culture is that it speaks to car enthusiasts the world over, and manifests itself in many different countries and communities. Although Southern California is widely considered the mecca of the culture, the Pacific Coast Highway has bridged the sport to our neighbors to the north, in both Washington and Oregon. This is nothing new either, the northwest has been riding low for years, as evidenced by the recent car show put on by Lowcos Car Club. On June 14th, 2009, Lowcos Car Club held their 3rd annual Moses Lake Lowrider show at the Grant County fairgrounds in Moses Lake, WA. While this show marked the 3rd year of this event, the Lowcos Car Club has held over 19 different car shows throughout the northwest, helping to spread the Lowrider movement throughout the territory.

Grant County Fairgrounds opened up its gates to over 250 custom cars and hoppers at this event, making it definitely the place to be for anyone who loves Lowriders. Special guest Kita Leloa from Uce Car Club was in attendance, and he brought several Northwest Uce riders with him to partake in the festivities. Kita was definitely there for good reason, as he was awarded the “Lowrider Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Lowcos crew. Both Lowcos chapters, Spokane and Yakima, had plenty to do as they helped to organize the different aspects of the event. Other clubs in attendance included Majestics Portland chapter, Showtime Seattle chapter, Royal Image, Homiez Only’s Yakima and Minnesota chapters, and many others. Bobby Mack of Showtime car club won the Best Hydraulics award, which was donated by Andy of Adex. One of only a handful of clear Adex dumps in existence, the dumps were engraved and presented to Bobby for his full chrome and engraved aircraft setup. The hop dazzled the crowd, and cemented this year’s event as a must-attend event for next year as well.

Lowcos wishes to thank all the attendees, contestants, and participants for making this year’s Moses Lake car show a success. Congrats on the event from all of us at Lowrider, we’ll see you next year!
