The Tri-State area waits every year for the hot days of early July to roll around in anticipation of their hottest show, both literally and figuratively, for lowriders. Probably the biggest annual car show to hit the Eastern seaboard, cars come into Englishtown, New Jersey’s Old Bridge Township Raceway Park the first weekend of each July from as far away as Rhode Island to be a part of this event.

Now a fully sanctioned Lowrider Magazine Tour show, Englishtown is where East Coast lowriders can qualify for the Las Vegas, Nevada, Super Show. Couple that with the fact that there just aren’t any other major lowrider shows in the area and you know that there’s going to be some excitement about this show from the lowriding crowd. Even male supermodel Tyson Beckford, red mohawk and all, was walking around checking out cars. Clubs like Lunatics, Loyalty, Supreme and more came out to see and be seen by the lowrider family.

With the Lowrider rig as a backdrop and the sun shining high in the sky, Saturday was full of import drag racing action and some lowriders making their way to Englishtown to get the fun and excitement started. Sunday brought plenty of heat and with it more than 80 lowriders and 14 hoppers and dancers. With the addition of a couple hundred Euros, it was a packed house and there was never a shortage of things to do, from watching the import drags and shows by various live acts to checking out the bikini contest, ramp riding exhibition and more.

The beer garden was a great place to quench your thirst via some alcoholic beverages and there were food vendors everywhere. Thousands of people came from far and wide to see one of the East Coast’s premier shows and they weren’t in any way disappointed with what they saw or heard. If you’re on the East Coast, this is certainly the Summertime show that you should not miss.
